SMC Electronique
Europe's purpose-built centre was inaugurated in 1998 by the former
British Ambassador, Sir Michael Jay. His successor, Sir John Holmes,
marking his first year in office, visited Normandy on the 15th October
with the objective of reinforcing Franco-British links and to gain
a better understanding of the potential and existing commercial
exchanges between British and French companies.
SMC Electronique Europe, created by its British
Head Office in 1994, has always maintained an excellent relationship
with the commercial team at the Embassy and continues to receive
its support and encouragement for the company's development.
The Ambassador therefore chose SMC Electronique
Europe (specialists in computer networking products and services)
on his first visit to Normandy in order to make acquaintance with
its director, Mr Mehrzad Korangi and to learn more about the company's
services and its current projects across Europe and beyond.
His Excellency visited the laboratories where
diagnostics and repairs on networking products (routers, hubs, modems,
multiplexers, etc.) are carried out, and met with the multilingual
commercial team. The discussions also included explanations on new
products and services created within the Group which are due to
be announced in the near future.
In terms of Franco-British relations, SMC Electronics'
objective is to develop business on both sides of the Channel with
the backing of the commercial services from the Embassy and the
Franco-British Chamber of Commerce, creating a true synergy between
enterprises in both countries and giving easier access to the respective
markets.
